OUR PROCESS

DESIGN PROCESS

  • Site meeting. During this first meeting we evaluate the site for feasibility regarding space, access and equipment location. We also determine if retaining walls are needed based on topography. We also listen to your vision for your backyard pool.
  • We design the pool based on the information from our site meeting. There is sometimes some back-and-forth revision and consultation during the design process to get exactly what you want. We present the design concepts via email.
  • Pool proposal presented.

POOL BUILD PROCESS

  • Sign off and Deposit.
  • Permit
  • Layout and Staking.
  • Dig: The excavation is an exciting time to see the pool come into shape. We will move the big machinery into your back yard and you will see things take shape. Our skilled crafspeople make it look easy, but it takes a lot of time and experience along with hard work and knowledge to do what they do. The dig takes approximately 2 days. We usually have to export some of the dirt we pull out.
  • Steel: The rebar steel installation process takes about 2-3 days. This is where we form the cage of the pool with steel. The steel will become encased in shotcrete in a future step.
  • This is one of the more important steps in the pool build. The plumbing includes the circulation system, main drain, skimmers, pool cleaners and features you may have selected like a spa, bubblers, jets, waterfalls, etc. The plumber installs all of the lines into the pool and runs them to the equipment location. The plumbing can take the better part of a week depending on how complicated the design is.
  • This is another important step which includes running a bond wire around the perimeter of the pool. This also includes running conduit for all of the lighting that is designed into your pool.
  • Shotcrete: The shotcrete is usually a one day process. This is where we shoot a pressurized concrete mix into the steel rebar cage to for the concrete shell of the pool. Our craftspeople are skilled in handling the concrete conveyance from the concrete truck into the shotcrete pump and sculpting the form of the pool shell. We usually let the shotcrete cure for about a week after we place it.
  • Waterline Tile. The tile setter is a skilled artisan that is responsible for installing the waterline tile around the perimeter of your pool and spa.
  • Coping and Decking. The decking phase takes about a week and is heavily dependent on the square footage of decking and type of decking. Some people have very little decking, there are concrete options as well as natural stones and composite paver materials to choose from The installation process varies based on your selections. But it typically takes about a week.
  • Interior Finish. Our finish crew of artisans are well equipped with the knowledge and experience for this finish phase of work. They start by mixing the batch formula and then setting up the pressurized pump system to smoothly spray the formula on to the surfaces of your pool. After the initial spray application, our craftsmen will hand trowel and knead the surfaces into the planned design. After this our crew will expose the finish by washing away excess concrete from the surface. The finish is then left to set and harden. The length of time needed depends on the type of finish you’ve selected. Next a special solution is used to create a clean finish free of excess residue or film from the application process. Once this is finished we immediately start filling the pool with water.
  • Equipment installation and start up. First the equipment is set and tied into the pipes we roughed in during the plumbing phase. The equipment is also connected to electrical and gas if you have a heater. Once the equipment is set the technician is responsible for testing the pool systems to make sure everything is functioning properly. The start up technician will also thoroughly clean the pool. Once the pool is clean and equipment is running properly the technician will begin the process of balancing the pool water. Expect the equipment set and start up to take about a week.
  • If there is any landscaping that needs to happen in conjunction with the pool, it will take place after this final step of balancing the water.
  • Pool safety. Some of the final items that will be required for your pool is a safety fence and door alarms. A safety fence is required to be built around the pool area. If your back yard is fenced in that may suffice. It is required by code that pool safety specific latches are on any fence gates and pool alarms are installed on all exterior doors going from the house to the pool area.
